Over the past 10 years, ceiling fans have evolved into the center piece of a room. Many of our fan-manufacturing brands have designed ceiling fans that match with their lighting collections to provide a uniform and stylish look to
any room in the home. We offer fans small and big, sleek and modern, classic and traditional, and any other kind that fits with your room’s style and size.
Picking the right fan:
To create the flair and effect that you’re looking for, you need, not only the right style, but the right size fan for your space. Here are some general guidelines when looking for a fan to fit your room,
For use in the summer and winter:
Ceiling fans only move the air around – they do not change its temperature. This allows use for both summer and winter. In the summer, set the fan’s direction of rotation so that it blows the air downward. The cool air being blown downward
by the fan increases the efficiency of the body’s natural cooling mechanism by speeding up the evaporation of perspiration on human skin. Since the fan doesn’t change the temperature, and instead works directly on the body, using the fan only when
you’re in the room is more energy efficient than having it run while you are not in the room.
How can a fan help in the winter? Ceiling fans do not change the temperature of the room, they only move the air around. Setting the fan so that it spins in the opposite direction, and a lower speed, pulls the colder air up and forces
the warmer air, above, to move down, without blowing air directly at the occupants of the room. This evens out the temperature of the room, making the higher part of the room cooler and the lower, occupied, part of the room warmer. This then allows
the thermostat to be lowered a few degrees lower to save energy and maintain the same level of comfort.
