Over fifty years ago, Rose Feiss, an immigrant with talent and spirit, began sewing lampshades to occupy her time while her son, Murray, was serving in the Navy during World War II. What began as an endeavor to pass the time, developed into a cottage industry filling the days of many wives and mothers in The Bronx, New York. After the war, Murray joined his mother¹s business and expanded it to include portable lighting.
