Green Products: What Is Title 24?

California Code of Regulation also known as California Building Standards Code passed Title 24 for California residents to comply with. This title is a building regulation that establishes standards and construction requirements to conserve energy throughout California. The standards include not-to-be exceeded specifications for HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Condition) systems, door, window materials, blinds, insulation and other features of the structures. This compliance helps save energy and reduces greenhouse gas emissions.

These codes were last published in 2005. A new edition will be published in 2009.
