The traditional farmhouse style (also known as the classic farmhouse look) is often defined as a more rustic country style, focusing on craftsmanship more than flair. The modern farmhouse movement has been coming on strong for the last decade, and has an earlier American feel to it, with less intricate finish work and décor.
