For example: If your room was 10 feet long by 14 feet wide, you would add 10 + 14. The answer is 24. You would want to select a chandelier that was 24 inches in diameter – minimum. Round, square, oval or rectangle? Symmetrical chandeliers are always in style. You would want to pick a round chandelier for a round table. Square for a square table. For a rectangular table, a linear or oval chandelier is best. You could also get away with using a square chandelier with a round table as well. It just depends on your style and taste.

By contrast, when entertaining or eating your dinner, you may want to dim the level of light down to create a nice mood and pleasant atmosphere to dine by.
